There are two Primary Schools in the parish. They are Catholic Schools under the patronage of Bishop Michael Smith, Bishop of Meath. DANGAN NATIONAL SCHOOL is a mixed Catholic NS serving the educational needs of Summerhill and the surrounding area since 1832. We welcome all children who come to us and treat them and their families with respect. While most of our pupils are Irish, we also have children from Argentina,Lituania, China, the Philippines, Poland, Sweden and Zimbabwe, among others. In total 160 pupils attend the school. Six class teachers from Infants to 6th along with a Learning Support Teacher, Partime Resource Teacher, Special Needs Assistant and a part-time language support teacher are employed in the school. Dangan NS has its own playing fields, basketball court, garden, and multi-purpose room. The school is located north of the village of Summerhill in a rural setting.
